SR 108 between West Hurley Waldrip Road and Eich Road will close to all travelers from 8 a.m. Monday, July 8 to 8 a.m. Monday, July 22. This is the first of three total closures of the highway between July and August.
Project overview
This project will remove multiple barriers to fish under two state highways. Crews will work on SR 108 near Kamilche and US 101 near the Thurston/Mason County line.
What to expect
After the 4th of July holiday, travelers are encouraged to plan for a series of closures at two locations on SR 108 west of Kamilche.
The first closure starts Monday, July 8. The closures allow crews to complete a lot of work in a relatively short period of time.

During each closure, travelers will detour via US 101 and SR 8 in Thurston and Grays Harbor counties. See "Maps and Drawings" for the detour route.
US 101 construction
Beginning July 27, crews will begin work on both directions of US 101. The work zone is near the Thurston-Mason County line. Crews will reconfigure one direction of the highway to allow for both directions of travel. One lane in each direction will remain open with a reduced speed limit of 45 mph.
The temporary changes will remain in place until crews build new bridges that carry US 101 over Griggs Creek. When work is complete, crews will move traffic back with two lanes open in each direction.
